Huntly Bike Week launch day!
Market Muir Park and car park area
Throughout the day the Huntly Bike Week launch day event plays host to a stand manned by the sustainable transport organisation GetAbout. Vsitors will be able to talk about cycling, walking, and using public transport to get around as well as pick up leaflets and information to get you thinking of alternatives if you currently use your car to go everywhere.
Fully trained staff from Adventure Aberdeen will be there with their funtastic cycle roadshow where you can try out all kinds of unusually shaped bikes for kids and grown-ups alike in a safe and managed environment.
Although we are unable to provide a dedicated Bike Dr service throughout the day we do have a cycle workshop stand and tools with people attending it at points throughout the day.
Limited cycle parking will be available on the grass so for anyine riding to the event and wanting to rest on the grass and maybe have a picnic can so so without having the lye their bike on the floor
Local rider Callum Morrison will be putting on a display of stunts and tricks which he has perfected over time spent between his pedal powered trials bike and his motorised trials bike. Callum will be leaving the nosier one of the two at home on the day.
Local cycle enthusiast and Gordon Schools pupil Harris Williamson will also be pedalling around the park for us during the day, but Harris will be riding an altogether different cycle on the day. We understand he has a reputation for having unicycled down Tap O' Noth!!
Local fitness guru Patricia Coward will be leading a guided ride of the local area for anyone wishing to take part, all children must be accompanied by an adult and every rider MUST wear a helmet to take part please. 2 pm start at the park, route to be decided on the day..
Deveron Arts will also be including cycle talks at their Faceloop event at 51 Old Road on Sat 15th, so why not make a day of it in Huntly?
