Sat 21st June 2014 - Huntly Bike Week launch day
Market Muir Huntly, all day
This year we have more than ever before!
For the last two years GetAbout have joined us to chat to folk about sustainable transport around the shire, and have brought with them the cycle roadshow manned by the trained staff at Adventure Aberdeen, this year as well as being able to try out some fun and whacky bikes there will also be a Bike Doctor available to look over your bike and give it a health check, and a dedicated area for younger riders either scooting along on balance bikes or learning to pedal for the first time.
Callum Morrison, local Trial rider will be wowing us again for the second year, on ramps built by the volunteers earlier in the year which should enable Callum to show off skills we wouldn't have known he had after last years" stack of ol palets" equipment only allowed him to go so far.
Darren and his pedicab join us for the first time in 2014 providing a cycle based shuttle service between the town square and the Market Muir.
If you are riding to the event there will be some dedicated cycle parking available on the grass as well as a pit stop for checking tyre pressures and giving them a quick blast of air if needed.
Police Scotland will be visiting us again this year, this time for an hour or so on the day to chat about cycle safety on the road and cycle security. Hopefully the officer/s will arrive by bike from Huntly Station!
Deveron Cycling Club join us for the first time as part of a loop from Banff to Huntly. The club will then be helping us out with one or more of our competitions and promoting their own event later in the week
Competitions - See our dedicated page to learn about all the fun competitions you can get involved in, and cycling related prizes you can win
